Out of the Canadian north country Gordie Tentrees releases his 3rd album "Mercy or Sin" featuring his band of 7 years Ken Hermanson and Matt King, produced by Juno Winner Bob Hamilton. This is the much anticipated follow up to critically acclaimed "Bottleneck to Wire 2007" and " 29 loads of Freight 2004"

This album captures the band's dynamic live show and growth of songwriter Gordie Tentrees. He has toured relentlessly in North America, Europe and the UK building an international buzz in the roots music scene. He has opened for Fred Eaglesmith, Kelly Joe Phelps, shared the stage with the D-Rangers, Rick Fines, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, performed live on CBC Saturday Night Blues, and showcased at North American Folk Alliance, WCMA's, and SXSW.

"The concert kicked off with a strong set by Gordie Tentrees, who has been opening for the band on recent dates, and it is apparent to this listener that Tentrees has been working hard in the couple of years since he opened the same venue for Kelly Joe Phelps.
His ease and ability on resophonic slide guitar and rack mount harmonica suggest some serious time spent honing his craft; and the inclusion of an electrified stomp board lends authority to his steady tapping left foot. Good tunes with strong vocals and deft fingerpicking make for an enjoyable presentation and the addition of Eaglesmith's sidemen, Matty Simpson on electric guitar and Luke Stackhouse on string bass, to finish off Tentrees portion of the show was an added treat. Tentrees is a talent on the move, and moving in good company" Peterborough Examiner

Going back and forth across North America from the Yukon, Gordie has performed some 200 shows a year. Pick any 5 artists you think might sound like him and you won't find one Gordie on harp, dobro, and guitar is joined by Ken Hermanson on lapsteel, guitar, vocals and Matt King on upright bass, porch bass, vocals. Together they bend blues, folk, country, and roots music into a Canadian sound all their own.

Feeling lucky to get this far with only his fortune amounting in friends, he continues to build a career upon Canadian tours, festival appearances, and showcases while garnering airplay in Canada, U.S, Europe and Australia. His debut album "29 Loads of Freight" was released in 2004 to rave reviews, more shows, a documentary (www.topoftheworldfilms.com) and the opportunity to munch on many a snack tray with his hero's. He recently spent last winter mentoring with Canadian roots/blues man Rick Fines.

In 2007 Gordie released his new album "Bottleneck to Wire' with special guests Roger Marin (Fred Eaglesmith Band)- pedal steel, Jaxon Haldane (D-Rangers)- banjo, and Juno nominee Kim Barlow- cello. This new album instantly created an international media buzz in the Toronto Star, Globe & Mail, Penguin Eggs and Maverick Mag. It was featured in the 07 American Media Guide as well, described as "A landmark album, from a true songwriter at the forefront of his genre"
